We’re excited to present the Official Selection for this year’s Forum in March. A total of 26 projects from 15 countries have been selected to pitch during m:brane 2026.

In a post-human world, robots continue to follow their programmed routines, even though there is no one left to be served. But when his best robot friend is kidnapped, meticulous service robot Andy finds out that life is about more than just wiping crumbs off the tables. For the first time in his life, he leaves the diner to save his friend, gets caught up in a battle over waning energy resources, and discovers a purpose beyond his programming.

Impossible? Hopefully not. Really freaking difficult? Absolutely.

Beautiful Misfits (SE) – Feature, Drama, 13-18 years, Cinenic film

Thirteen-year-olds Oden and Julian are inseparable in their quiet village, their intense friendship – bordering on love – setting them apart. Six-year-old Mia lives with her single father and two brothers in the only dark house on a brightly lit street, where Christmas has been banned. At school she learns about house gnomes and places a self-made “gnome light” in her window. That night Twiete, a clumsy but big-hearted Christmas gnome, moves in through a tiny door. Together with Mia and her brother Tim, he secretly tries to bring Christmas back into the Winter family’s life and gently helps her father open his heart again.

In the city Nairobi, Big Tech is slowly being held accountable after accusations of heavily exploiting African workers in the name of tech development. While lawyers and judges aim for legislative justice, another movement is taking place on the ground, where young Kenyans are innovating alternative digital futures closely linked to tradition and culture. In a time of mass big tech development, the youth-led movement teaches us how to preserve culture amidst big tech’s homogenous infrastructure.

Headrush is a fast-paced comedy-drama that dives into the chaos of Finn as he navigates a mental health diagnosis with falling in love for the first time. On the outskirts of a Moldovan village lives a lonely grandmother, so-called Mamunea. One summer day, Mamunea’s routine breaks down when the water in the well disappears and the local river dries up.

Per helps his parents with everything at home. His older sister Pernille uses a wheelchair and needs constant care, so Per has become “the big boy” — a child who has forgotten how to play. When Per can’t stop acting like an adult, he is cursed and turned into an old man, and must journey through the fantasy world to reclaim his childhood.

13-year-old Caleb is on his way to a Halloween party—and possibly his first kiss with Fiona—when he gets hit by a car and dies. By mistake, he ends up in Hell and makes a deal with Satan to return home. He is sent back as a zombie, with the demon Whiplash in tow.
While dealing with a decaying body, conflicts with his best friend, and a dream of kissing Fiona, he also has to complete a task for Satan within 24 hours. Otherwise, he’ll be sent straight back to Hell.
What is a teenager to do?!

Carlo (12) travels alone from Bochum to Palermo to find his chaotic father Salva, who left after his parents separated. When he finally finds Salva, the reunion does not go as he had hoped. His journey becomes one of growing up, courage and self-discovery. Carlo finally learns to speak for himself and redefine his parents.

At a perfectly ordinary riding school the three little ponies – Cleo, Zoro and Sally – live side by side with the large, magnificent horses. This may sound like a chill life, but for the three ponies it is a constant struggle to sneak their way into the life of luxury they feel cheated out of – a life reserved only for the big horses.
Driven equally by a sense of injustice and delusions of grandeur, the ponies embark on endless missions, sending them off on new adventures.

Inspired by Carl Sagan’s Cosmos and Jostein Gaarder’s Sophie’s World, the series invites young curious minds on a transformative, personal quest for meaning.

In the roadside ditch where Elmer and Henry live with their friends all sorts of strange human objects keep landing – thrown from cars or fallen off trailers speeding down the highway. Full of fun and curiosity they turn waste into wonder, inventing hilarious new ways to use humans’ “trash”. They discover that everything has value, when using your imagination.

Women’s wrestling is now the fastest-growing youth sport around the world. She Wrestles artfully interweaves remarkable stories of young women in the American heartland who surmount trauma and find joy by embracing the ancient sport of wrestling. Though patriarchal societies have long discouraged women from wrestling, that dam is breaking just in time to give teenage girls a courage-building, deeply embodied, community-based antidote to social media, depression, and our always-online culture.

Sigrit (10) and her sister Ingrid (8) are growing up in a small Estonian town. Three best friends reunite every summer at Vicky’s rundown campsite as “The Monster Club,” scaring guests with monster pranks. The three prank experts brings their imaginary swamp monster to life, but just as they’re caught, strange things start to happen in the forest.

Gabriel (12) lives on a farm together with his father and grandfather in a small Norwegian village. It’s expected that he will take over the farm one day, but Gabriel has a secret wish; he wants to sing. He dreams of joining the Kicksled Choir, but when his father attacks a young refugee, the community turns against them. Gabriel secretly shelters the boy and must choose between loyalty and justice. In finding the courage to sing, he also changes the tune of the village.

Iris’s powers awaken, exposing her extraterrestrial origins. When danger peaks, they must rely on one another so Iris can fulfill her destiny.
