New Dawn for Youth Documentaries
The m:brane initiative REALYOUNG© for Documentaries has dedicated its work to become a Greenhouse of development, experiment and opportunity for the network of Progressive Creators, Producers and Decision Makers, who are passionately bringing innovative, artistic content with an edge to life for sophisticated, intelligent and savvy young audiences.
REALYOUNG© is a well designed development scheme, which – in tune with the overall vision of m:brane – bring documentary producers in close dialogue with funders, distributors and a board of youth experts, to support their quest for creating daring, edgy and contemporary projects for the international market.
Over the past 10 years, the outcome of REALYOUNG© has successfully led to documentaries for kids and youth now has a place on the international agenda, and further reaches audiences across the world.
Since its inception in 2015—initiated by Creative Director Annette Brejner in collaboration with Ove Rishøj Jensen—REALYOUNG© for Documentaries has not only endured but has become a significant and decisive force in the development, growth, and recognition of the international youth documentary scene.
Pioneering Real Stories and Non-Scripted Content for Todays’ Savvy Young Minds: from 2025 REALYOUNG© will be part of m:branes extended crusade to raise awareness, redefine and create business opportunities for non-fiction storytelling – namely The Non Didactic Universe©
As we enter this new decade, we are staying true to our roots and those who contributed to the development by participating in REALYOUNG© with their documentary projects. Simultaneously we embrace the evolution of new technologies to blend with and reimagine non-scripted screen content for smart young audiences.
Our focus remains on uncovering the most artistically innovative projects with striking stories and intentional, boundary-pushing aesthetics.
