As we look back on the vibrant and innovative gathering that was m:brane 2024, we’re filled with enormous gratitude and awe for the collective spirit that made this year’s forum not just possible, but a resounding success. Highlights from m:brane 2024:
This year, we saw a fantastic gathering of 208 delegates from 26 countries, making m:brane truly a melting pot of ideas, and creativity. Our forum became a stage for over 35 innovative projects pitched during the two pitching days.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to every participant, decisionmaker, and collaborator who joined us in Malmö. Your dedication and passion are what fuel m:brane’s mission.

Best Pitch Award
The compelling narrative and innovative approach of “MEDICATED”, written by Las Dyhrcrone and produced by Daniel Mühlendorph (Hyæne Film, Denmark), captured our jury’s admiration.
Human Rights & Children’s Rights Under the Microscope Award
“Forza Oslo”, directed by Mats Bjerknes and produced by Jonas Bruun (Storm Films, Norway), was recognized for its poignant exploration of important social issues.
Young Horizons Exchange Award
Congratulations to the creators of the Norwegian project “Whatever Happened”: Naoki Kawai, Lene Bergersen, Kamilla Fausa, Anna Løvlund, Jonas Nilssen Opedal and produced by Arild Halvorsen (Fabelaktiv, Norway).
The Brink of Dreams chosen for Critique de la Semaine in Cannes
This Egyptian project was pitched at m:brane at an very early stage 2020. We are so delighted to see that film I now ready to meet the audience and it starts in Cannes.
The Brink of Dream is directed by Nada Riyadh and Ayman El Amir, produced by FELUCCA FILMS, Egypt, co produced by DOLCE VITA FILMS France and MAGMA FILM Denmark.
In a remote conservative village in the South of Egypt, a group of disenfranchised Coptic girls rebel by forming an all-female street theater troupe. They dream of becoming actresses, dancers and singers, challenging their families and the villagers with their provocative performances.
