At the Panel THINK BIG:
Produced by IVAR Studios, Nordic Glaciers is a mesmerizing immersive odyssey through Europe’s natural history. This cinematic experience, specifically designed for fulldome cinema, blends high-impact visuals with urgent scientific facts to illuminate the majestic wonders of our melting glaciers.
The film follows a family of glaciologists as they "travel back in time" to witness the landscapes of 100 years ago. Utilizing photographs dating back to 1910, the production employs advanced photogrammetry and manual 3D conversion to bring historical geology to life in stereoscopic 3D. These sequences are paired with modern cinematic footage shot on custom fulldome cameras.
Targeting youth and classrooms, the project aims to inspire environmental stewardship in tomorrow's decision-makers. By contrasting the icy giants of the past with the climate reality of today, Nordic Glaciers offers an unforgettable, immersive ride through the chronicles of time.
